Chinese Gala Oxford
On the 20th Febuary the oxford chow gar sothern mantis kung fu was invited to do a demonstration, for the Oxford Chinese International Awareness Chinese new year Gala. I like to thank Penelope for inviting the school.

Paul Whitrod Sifu started studying Chow Gar Mantis Kung Fu in the mid 1970 under Yip Chee Keung who came to london in 1974.
Yip Chee Keung father being the well known and late grandmaster Yip Shui, who sadly pass away in 2004.
When Yip Chee Keung left england to travel back to hong kong, Paul join them and stayed at grandmaster house and at night paul would sleep on a wooden bench called the shaolin bed.
This was hard and probably uncomfortable, because Paul stayed with grandmaster 24 hours a day he completed the system and was shown the system of dit dar (fall & hit medicine)
He also became a close-door student and did the sifu tea ritual.
In 1986 Master Paul Whitrod open a full time school and in 1987 was honored with the banner of uk reperesentative of Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu and on a number of occasions his skill was tested for real.
